Monday - Cupcakes
This week I'm serving some leftovers! There are a bunch of crafts and random projects I've not had the chance to do with the kiddos and this week is our time to revisit it all.
We kicked off today by making some puffy paint using glue and shaving cream and making some cute cupcake art. I let the kids put real sprinkles on which made it all the more fun. When the paint dried we poked and prodded it until it deflated. It's a really fun texture!
Afterwards, we got out these learning resources cupcakes that have slots for letters and pictures to work on the alphabet and spelling. Koko was surprisingly entertained by the little manipulative.
Tuesday - Dinosaurs
Lava!!! I was really excited about this activity because it was something Koko could enjoy as well. We put red and yellow paint inside of the bag and talked about how when it got mixed together, it made orange. Koko squished the heck out of it his and grabbed Charlotte's as well, so to keep the peace I taped Clesse's onto a different window.
In the evening the boys and I played with some dinosaur puzzles while Charlotte was out on a little date with her dad. I love spending time with subsets of kids because they really have unique relationships with one another, and its fun to have some different interactions with them!
Wednesday - Rainbows
I initially had thrown rainbows in with unicorn week because I thought there couldn't possibly be enough unicorn stuff to keep both of the big kids entertained, but boy was I wrong! Ergo, we're doing a few of the more fun rainbow activities I had planned that we didn't get to a few weeks ago. I got out this large dry erase poster and started by having Charlotte copy down some of the colors I had written on each line in lowercase letters. I wanted to be able to watch her write letters, because there are a few that she seems to struggle with and I could hopefully help her and show her some easier ways to write them. After that we started to add items that are each color on the side of the paper, until Koko took over the poster 😂
Thursday - Errands
I let the kids run around the park, and then dragged them around for some errands before Charlotte's pre-school. I've fallen a bit behind!
Friday - Ocean
We wrapped up the week by finishing up a couple of ocean projects that we wanted to do! We made a couple of sea creatures using egg cartoons, Charlotte made an adorable fossil using Play-Doh, and Clesse learned the names of a bunch of sea creatures by playing with these little figures and putting them into Play-Doh.
What a great idea to catch up on things you hadn't been able to use! It was fun seeing photos of some of the projects we just saw in person :) I also love seeing Koko starting to participate. Your mommy preschool is the best!
